- The French Grand Prix in 1954 had a team new to Formula One racing finished one-two on their debut.
- It was Juan Manuel Fangio and Karl Kling for Mercedes-Benz.
- Today it was Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello for Brawn-Mercedes after an extraordinary race in Australia.
- A late scrap for third ended in tears, with Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica crashing out, ultimately handing the place to McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.
- Earlier Trulli finished third but was given a penalty of 25 sec for overtaking Hamilton during the period of safety car, It ended him with 12th position.
